Annual Award to Support Public Service Work

Winners’ Workshop 1998

The J.W. Saxe Memorial Fund is a prize, typically up to two thousand dollars awarded annually based on need, to one or more college or university students in the United States involved in public service. The award enables students to gain practical experience in public service by taking a no-pay or low-pay job or internship during a summer or other term. Preference will be given to applicants who have already identified a position or project, but who require additional funds.

Since 1984, we have made over 250 awards to students engaged in public service work. The Saxe Fund is currently in transition, but fellowships will be available for the summer of 2014. For more information on how to apply, please click on the “To Apply” tab.
